Tournament Rules & Regulations The official rules for the tournament is the National Federation High School Rule Book. |
| POINTS OF EMPHASIS |
- The Tournament will use the following for Time-outs (Coaches or players may call a time out):
2 (two) - Regular Time-outs 1 (one) - 30 Second TIme-out per game Only 1 (one) time-out per overtime. Unused time-outs will not be allowed to carry-over into overtime.
- Free Throws:
On 10th Time Foul - One & One Bonus No Double Bonus
Lane Space requirements: Only the maximum of four defense and two offense players can be in the lanes. The fourth Marked lane spaces (nearest the free-throw shooter) may be occupied.
- Game Playing Times - Stop Clock for All Divisions
8 Minute Periods 3 Minute Half-Time Overtime Periods - 3 Minutes for All Divisions
- Mercy Rule:
If a team has a 20 point lead at any time during the 4th period, the clock will become a running clock, except for time-outs. The clock will become a regulation clock if the point difference reaches 15 points. Defense will not be allowed to full-court press during the mercy rule. Teams may begin their defense at half-court.
- Tie Breaker:
When (2) two teams are tied, Head-to-Head determines the winner. When three (3) teams are tied, a point differential (maximum of 13 points) will be enforced. The point differentials of each game are totaled and teams are ranked. The team with the lowest total is eliminated. Head-to-head will then determine the winner.
- The tournament will use the Rawlings "Vision" brown basketball as the official game ball.

A Few Reminders:
- All Coaches will be required to stay in the coaches' box during the contest.
- All players must be in proper uniform. T-shirts must match the main color of the uniform.
- Referees and coaches will meet prior to each contest to cover specific rules and the Blue Card
- Excellent sportsmanship will be required during the tournament. Coaches must behave in a positive manner at all times. The head coach is responsible for their fans at the gymnasium.
- Players may play on 2 teams during any tournament except during the finals in San Diego. All players must be registered online.
- 29.5 basketball is used for Boys 7, and 8 grade divisions
- 28.5 basketball is used for Boys 4, 5, 6 and all Girls divisions

Players in uniform and the head coacch and a maximum of 2 assistant coaches will enter free. Gate fee is good for the full day at any NJB Facility.

| PARENT SUPPORT/CONDUCT |
|
The game is for your youngster. We need your full cooperation and help in providing good sportsmanship and respect.
- Spectators are not allowed to harass or openly criticize the referees. Verbal abuse will not be tolerated.
- Spectators should not harass or berate members of the opposing team, nor should they belittle their efforts.
- Spectators should cheer and encourage their team. They should be supportive of their team in victory and likewise in defeat.
Remember, it is just a game and should be fun for all. Spectators will be asked to leave the facility if their behavior does not represent good sportsmanship and respect.
*Anyone that is ejected from a facility may not re-enter any NJB site for the entire day | |
